Case Study #6: From Mom-and-Pop to Well-Paying Corporate Product Development Role in 2 Months
From work instability and 70-hour work weeks with no compensation upside, to a highly esteemed product development leadership role at a progressive, up-and-coming company...
After a successful, but at times rocky, career progression at various restaurants, conference center establishments, and mom-and-pop food production companies, Marsaille came to me desiring leverage his R&D skillset to transition into a corporate product development role.
His existing résumé pigeon-holed him in a lower-paying restaurant or small, start-up round-hole-peg; we had a lot of work to do to bring his story and unique value proposition to life in a manner and design that "spoke" to his targeted audience (a corporate audience).
The resulting résumé clearly demonstrates his unique value proposition in a way that is relevant and speaks to that audience. We were able to identify and translate his strengths in leading and retaining top talent, driving cost-cutting initiatives, and capitalizing quickly on changing consumer trends in the regional market. I ensured the language used on this document was "corporate speak," to up-leveling his branding.
As a result of this Brand Overhaul, Marsaille landed his new dream role in product development with an up-and-coming player in the market within months of launching his new search, and is very happy in his new role.
